Think, think, think

Today, I went to Aunt Lolinda's and got to hold Baby David. I played peek-a-boo with him and he smiled at me. It was fun. Look at how cute we look in this picture.

Kaitlyn Through the Years

Here I am in my diaper. I'm trying to get to my formula, but the lid was on the bottle.
As you can see, this is my first birthday. This was just immediate family. I'm on my dad's lap and that's my mom's side profile. The kemem was to come later...that's the huge party where a whole bunch of Marshallese people come and eat and watch as my family entertains them with island dances. Kemems are a celebration of a Marshallese child's first birthday. I believe it has to do with the celebration of a child being able to survive the first year of life. On the islands, in the old days, child mortality was high so people decided to celebrate and have a huge party for every one year old.
That's me with the pacifier in my mouth. The rest are (left to right) Dana, my cousin, her brother, Jakeob, and my older brother, Nathan. I sure did love that pacifier, but my mom made me quit having it about a year ago. Now, I try to sneak a little taste of my new cousin, baby David's.
This is me recently, about January 13th, holding my new cousin, Baby David. Sitting next to us is my aunt Lolinda. Baby David is cute, but he's taking all the attention away from me. Sometimes, I get jealous when grandma or my mom holds him.

Hello

Hi All! I'm Kaitlyn and I just turned 3 on the fourth of February. I thought I would start a blog about my life. This was me when I was newly born, around Easter time, I believe. Aren't I the cutest?
